Justice Kagan DOMA Smackdown
thedcgayz: Kagan read aloud from the House Judiciary Committee report on DOMA. “Congress decided to reflect and honor of collective moral judgment and to express moral disapproval of homosexuality,” she said, quoting the report. “Is that what happened in 1996?”   Justice Kagan: SCOTUS Audience: Anti-Equality Advocates:

Raw food cleanse, day 2
It turns out my cleanse is still unbelievably terrible. I spent a good hour and a half going through restaurant food photos on Yelp. NEW LOW?  I’ve also taken to talking at everyone about my cleanse. And emailing old friends with life updates that are pretty much solely devoted to my raw food cleanse. One more day of misery. And then I can eat stuff that isn’t terrible.

Juice cleanse update 1
I’ve decided that I’m not a baby, I have all my teeth and as such I can and should eat solids. So I’m ditching the juice cleanse, and evolving. It’s raw food bender time. OH MY GOD HOW INTERESTING IS THIS? I KNOW RIGHT!?

I've started a juice cleanse
and will now horrify everyone I know by posting about it here. Because the only thing more interesting than a girl with a blog is a girl who blogs about a juice cleanse. Apologies in advance.

New Year's Eve and the expectations game, also...
THIS NIGHT WILL DEFINE THE REST OF YOUR YEAR.  I think this in the days and hours leading up to New Year’s Eve, as well as the hours and days following the official start of a new year. And yet somehow, despite this clear mandate, every New Year’s Eve ends up somewhere on the scale of underwhelming and sucking. And I’m left thinking “well this year is doomed.” ...

Dear alma mater, dear beloved charity and dear future congressional candidates: Please stop sending me letters. The future of America dies with each stamp you use. You see, my friends and I grew up on computers. We email. We text. Occasionally, we call. But we never write letters.  And more than that— unless we’re being invited to a classy wedding or we owe money to a bill collector...

About three weeks ago, my forehead was expertly carved up— all in the name of freeing my forehead from the downer of benign skin cancer. Instead of throwing myself a ticker tape parade or buying a really cute hat*, I made a list of things I learned from sporting an unseemly, giant bandage for most of October! Buckle your seatbelts for this existential dive. 1) The world’s least...
